FAQs

  • Everything we pack in our Crates is seasonal, meaning what is ripe and fresh right now, so the contents will change as the seasons do. Every Crate will have a selection of produce curated to offer a variety of flavor and nutrition. Crates may have leafy greens, herbs, vegetables, peas and beans as well as fruit.

  • Let us know during registration if you have any allergies and we will be sure not to include those things. We will provide a list of items that may be included for your review. If you are not sure about something that is new to you, we encourage you to give it a try. We will include nutrition information and recipies each time we introduce something new.

  • When an item is included in your Crate for the first time, it will come with nutrition information and basic prep instructions. There will also be tested recipes with each Crate. Your first delivery will come with a handy binder for you to keep recipes, favorites, and nutrition info convenient and easy to use.

  • Crate sizes are actually based on the Crate dimensions. Crates will be comfortably full. Serving size refers to quantity of each item and uses FDA standards- for example, if your small Crate has green beans, there will be 2+ servings of green beans - at least 1.5 cups

  • If something is a favorite and you want bulk amounts for a get together or a bushel for freezing or canning you can find us at the Oxford Farmers' Market on Saturdays, 7-12 on the corner of Lanier and McClanahan. You can also contact us and make arrangements for individual bulk orders on a first come, first served basis when in season.

  • No! While we will try to be at the same time, every time, and we would certainly love to see you, we know that life happens. We also know that mid-route is not the best time for a good chat. That’s why we will leave your Crate in the same agreed location at your home each time, even if you are out or just can't come to the door. You leave the empty one for us, and we leave the fresh one for you!

  • Right now, we deliver only to residents right in Oxford. We are brand new to this community, so we are going to start small to be sure that service doesn't suffer from being stretched too thin. As we grow, so will our delivery area, expanding from Oxford into northern Granville County.

  • You don’t know fresh until you have experienced same-day fresh. Our deliveries go out in the afternoon for two reasons: to get to your home when you are ready to start dinner and so that harverst can occur mere hours before deliveries.

  • We are not because we know that terms can be misleading and even some things that count as “organic” are not natural or sustainable the way we feel they could be. Check out our About page for details on our practices.

  • Yes, there is a one-time registration fee of $50 which sets up your account, adds you to our existing route, and gets your binder and Crates ready. Once you are set-up as a customer you never pay this fee again even if you suspend deliveries.

  • No, but soon! Right now, we are working on becoming registered as an EBT vendor so that after the registration fee, you can use your EBT card for your regular deliveries, but we are not quite there yet.
